The average scar reduction in the camu camu group was 69.4 ± 52.85, while in the positive control it was 69.26 ± 53.66. Microscopically, similar leukocyte infiltration was observed in the dermis and in the stratum serosum in the camu-camu, and both were less than in the control group. In the group treated with camu camu-based cream, the presence of epidermis and a greater activation of basal cells or a stoppage of oxidative processes due to the antioxidant property of this fruit can be observed.

The antiplasmodic activity of 27 extracts corresponding to 9 plant species from the Peruvian Amazon was studied, these were evaluated on Plasmodium falciparum by the direct visual method, the strain was maintained by the continuous culture method in vitro. The IC50 of the aqueous and ethanolic extracts of camu camu (Myrciaria dubia) had a value of 3 and 6 μg/ml, respectively.
